ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: WALKER AND ROYCE

Hailing from Brooklyn, Walker & Royce power duo Sam Walker and Gavin Royce have been collaborating within the dance scene since 2011. They released their debut album, “Self Help” mid-October of 2017, which enclosed several popular house bangers such as “Take Me to Your Leader” and ‘Rub Anotha Dub.” Being a part of Dirtybird Records has propelled this group onto several festival lineups as well as into some stellar collaborations with others within the dance scene, such as Green Velvet and Dances with White Girls. Their tour for Self Help will touch down all over the country, at cities including Las Vegas, Miami, Santa Barbara, and our very own Opera Nightclub in Atlanta.

5 SONGS TO LISTEN TO

Take Me To Your Leader (feat. Dances with White Girls)

Released as the main single from Self Help, this song was long anticipated with the release of this album because of its catchy hooks and hypnotizing beats.

Fetish

The fast pace of this song mixed with its robotic intro, wavy overtones, and seamless transitions will have you up and dancing in no time!

Rub Anotha Dub (feat. Green Velvet)

This song was released under Self Help as well as as a single. Green Velvet, a fellow house artist hailing from Chicago, lends his expertise to this tune. The call to action for all the “ravers in the club” to get down and to get busy is the perfect way to start your night.

T.B. – Original Mix

This is one of Walker & Royce’s more zany tunes, and it was released in 2016 under the Dirtybird label. The catchy lyrics and satisfying builds in this tune will have you cutting shapes all over Opera!

Peep This Cat

Released under the Peep This Cat EP, the low tones in this song paired with several bird calls and minimal lyrics will have you feeling like you and your crew are exploring a rainforest rave.

HONORABLE MENTION: Little Things

This song is one of Walker & Royce’s earliest releases, considering it’s from 2012! This tune will have you reminiscing simpler times with its nostalgic beats as well as having you dance the night away with its vintage exercise-class vibes.
